Most people will see an 80%-90% permanent reduction in hair with 6 treatments

, although additional treatments may be necessary depending on skin and hair colour, density per treated area and genetics.

There are some significant differences between hair removal machines, some business don’t offer “true” laser treatments, they utilize IPL or BBL machines, these non-lasers will not provide the same great results. Book a complimentary consultation so the procedure and benefits of the machine we use can be explained to you. This will help you make an informed decision about treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve considered Laser Hair Removal, but you’re still unsure about the whole procedure. Kelowna Laser and Skin Care is your best bet for a life free from shaving, waxing and tweezing! Here are a few frequently asked questions about Kelowna Laser Hair Removal options and what we can do for you:

Is It Permanent?

The FDA has cleared select lasers, including the Cynosure Elite, for marketing as “permanent hair reduction”. This means that the hair follicles that are disabled by the laser will not grow back. Laser is only effective during the active growth stage of hair, so more than one treatment is necessary to achieve desired results.

How Does It Work?

Lasers that are cleared for permanent hair reduction use powerful light sources that are designed to be absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle. By absorbing this laser energy, the hair follicles are disabled, impairing their ability to grow.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The laser can only disable hair follicles during the growing stage. Although one laser session can result in several months of hair reduction, additional treatments will be necessary to take care of other follicles when they re-enter the growth phase for permanent results. Generally 6 treatments are required for best results although it could be more or less than 6 depending on skin and hair coloring, density per treated area and genetics.

Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others and you may want to use a topical anesthetic. We use a Cryo Chiller which blows cold air on the area being treated help reduce the discomfort.

Are There Side Effects?
